Is my garden/site big enough?

You are welcome to measure the garden area and check or we will come along and do a survey and discuss your requirements and advise.

How early do I need to book?

It would help us if you could book as early as possible especially during the summer period, Late bookings are welcome and we will always try to accommodate you

When do you erect the marquee?

For weekend events, we erect on a Friday and the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday. During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by arrangement.

Can you join two or more of your marquee’s together?

Yes, we use a water proof gutter kit which enables our marquee’s to stand side by side or even end to end.

Can you erect a marquee on our patio or drive?

Yes we can, by using ground bars which links each leg together forming a base frame. This frame is then weighted down.

Do I have to pay extra for ground bars and guttering?

No, although some companies do charge extra, we include them in the price of the hire.

What happens if something is broken, damaged or missing?

We do charge for missing, broken or damaged items at full replacement cost.

Do you charge for delivery?

Delivery charges are worked out from our operating bases to the venue address. If you can provide a venue post code with an enquiry form we can then work out the delivery charge for you.

You say that your music sound system can be connected to my iPod

Yes you can connect your iPod, MP3 player, laptop or other music system to our equipment to save the expense of hiring a disco.

Does it matter if my garden/site has a slope?

A slight slope is nothing to worry about. A more pronounced slope is not a problem for the marquee structure but may be uncomfortable for guests. We are happy to come along and advise.

Can marquees be erected on uneven ground?

Marquees can be put up on uneven ground but as the carpet and waterproof underlay is layed directly onto the ground this needs to be considered. We are happy to come along and advise.

Can the marquee be connected to a building?

Yes. Our marquees can serve as an extension to a building. The marquee structures can easily butt up against the side of a house. We also have a range of open and enclosed walkways to link to your house. These have adjustable legs so that they can go up/down steps

Can the marquee be opened in warm weather?

Yes. The walls of our marquees can very easily be opened up. We can demonstrate how to do this so that the decision can be left to the day.

Are marquees suitable for winter events?

The interior look and feel of the marquee makes it an ideal venue for parties all year round including Christmas and New Year parties. Powerful heaters (see next question) ensure warmth.

Do we need heaters and are they warm enough?

Even in midsummer, a heater may be necessary. So budget for a heater just in case whilst keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Heaters sit outside the marquee and duct warm air into the marquee. They are thermostatically controlled just like your home heating system.

What colour are your marquees?

All our marquees are made of lacquered white PVC. We do not provide any striped marquees.

Does Jigsaw Marquees have insurance cover?

We have a full Empoyers/Public/Products Liability Insurance policy.

Could a marquee damage cables or pipes running underneath?

If cabling or pipe-work is near the surface, damage is possible when we anchor the marquee using ground pegs. Please advise us if any water mains or electrical cabling are close to the ground.

Will your marquees damage our garden?

Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best but recovery will be swift. We are always very careful not to damage plants if flower beds are included in a marquee.

Do we need a generator?

Marquee lighting, heating and music don’t require much power and therefore don’t normally call for a generator. If you have specific requirements or your event is not close to a power supply we can supply a generator at an extra charge.
